AQUENTA

The science

Water, from first principles

Hydration is skincare's first need, yet few brands explain how water actually gets into skin. AQUENTA's story rests on three public, verifiable anchors.

2003

Aquaporins

Peter Agre won the Nobel Prize in Chemistry for discovering aquaporins — narrow, selective channels in cell membranes. Water enters cells through these gates, so cluster size and structure matter.

2018

The “magic number” effect

Nature published the first atomic-scale images of hydrated ions, from a Peking University and Chinese Academy of Sciences team, showing that sodium ions hydrated by three water molecules diffuse unusually fast.

PCA

Natural moisturising factor

PCA (pyrrolidone carboxylic acid) is a core part of the stratum corneum's natural moisturising factor. Our magnesium, calcium, potassium and copper PCA speak a language skin already knows.

Why it comes first

  1. 1

    Prep

Mist right after cleansing to hydrate skin.

  2. 2

    Receive

Hydrated skin is ready for the serum and cream that follow.

  3. 3

    Restore

With daily use, support a calm, healthy barrier.

The evidence

  • Multi-site human efficacy testing by an NMPA-designated third-party lab (barrier repair, soothing, sensitive skin, blemishes, oil control)
  • Third-party microbial and heavy-metal test reports
  • NMR small-cluster test report
  • Product quality liability coverage by PICC

The research above is public background on hydration science and does not imply endorsement of AQUENTA by the researchers or institutions involved. Cosmetics are not intended to treat disease; see a doctor for serious skin concerns.
